The year under review has seen communities grappling with unparalleled challenges after being hard-hit by the
COVID-19 pandemic. We supported impacted communities in myriad ways – by providing meals and essential items to
those in need, monetary contributions to individuals and families affected badly by the pandemic, as well as support to
social organisations. Our operating subsidiaries, notably Bank Islam, through its AMAL corporate responsibility arm, and
Takaful Malaysia, have been doing their part as responsible corporate citizens in granting them help and hope in their

During the year under review, the state of
Sabah experienced a sharp increase in the
number of COVID-19 cases. Bank Islam
directed its efforts to ensuring the wellbeing
of the populace by contributing RM42,000
