A structure has been put in place for the integration of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) matters in the operating subsidiaries’ business operations, and as a guidance for the formulation of their strategies. Roles and Responsibilities The Group Management Committee is made up of CEOs of the operating subsidiaries, which include Bank Islam, Takaful Malaysia and BIMB Securities. The CEOs oversee their respective subsidiary’s sustainability performance. The Sustainability Steering Committee is responsible in providing guidance on the implementation of sustainability matters at the operating subsidiaries. Made up of key sustainability practitioners from the operating subsidiaries, members hold quarterly meetings to discuss on the overall strategy and ensure that all operating subsidiaries are aligned to the Group’s purpose and strategic direction. The Project Management Office advises the Sustainability Steering Committee in facilitating the implementation of sustainability-related initiatives at the respective operating subsidiaries. The committee formulates sustainability goals and framework as well provides the reporting on sustainability matters at BHB. The Sustainability Working Group manages day-to-day sustainability matters and executes sustainability-related actions. Made up of representatives of relevant and key business and operational functions of BHB and its operating subsidiaries, the group is essential in ensuring that sustainability is embedded into the organisation as guided by our pillars.
