SEGMENT REPORTING Operating segments are reported in a manner consistent with the internal reporting provided to the chief operating decision-maker, who is the person or group that allocates resources to and assesses the performance of the operating segments of an entity. The Group has determined its Group Management Executive Committee (GMEC) as its chief operating decision-maker. The Group’s business segments can be organised into the following main segments reflecting the Group’s internal reporting structure: (a) Group Retail Banking (GRB) GRB comprises Consumer Banking and Small and Medium Enterprises (‘SME’s) Banking. Consumer Banking focuses on providing products and services to individual customers. The products and services offered include financing, deposits, cards, wealth management and investment related products and services. SME Banking focuses on providing financing solutions to SMEs as well as trade and cash management solutions for SMEs. (b) Group Institutional Banking (GIB) GIB provides a wide range of products and services including financing, trade, liquidity and cash management, treasury, and investment banking and advisory, focusing on Commercial and Corporate client segments. GIB also comprise Treasury and Markets which offers treasury products and solutions, catering to various business needs of diverse customers through Money Market, Foreign Exchange (FX), Fixed Income and structured products. This segment is also responsible for the overall management of the liquidity and funding needs of the Group. (c) Head Office and Others Head Office and Others comprise head office and results from other business segments in the Group (including subsidiaries and associates). The results of these other businesses are not material to the Group and therefore do not render a separate disclosure and are reported in aggregate in the financial statements. The business segment results are prepared based on the Group’s internal management reporting, which reflects the organisation’s management reporting structure. Internal allocation of costs, for example, back office support, centralised cost, funding center and the application of transfer pricing, where appropriate, has been used in preparing the segmental reporting.
