A sick bay at MBI, where employees can receive first-aid treatment and rest for minor ailments. A new co-working and hot desking zone near our Cyberjaya branch, called BITIZone@Cyberjaya, which adds to our existing co-working and hot desking zones on Level 10 and 20 of MBI. These efforts have contributed to 89% of BITI-Pulse 2024 respondents saying that they have stayed at Bank Islam because of the flexibility and work environment provided. Our efforts at fostering an inclusive environment include ensuring our operations are accessible to the disabled community. To support this, we have equipped our branches with wheelchair accessibility, providing ease and convenience for both employees and customers. Additionally, priority seating is available to better serve the needs of the community. Currently, 79% of our branches are equipped with the necessary facilities to accommodate individuals with disabilities. Driving Continuous Improvement in DEI To ensure alignment between prospective employees and our core values, we introduced a DEI declaration statement into our recruitment process in 2024. This statement underscores our commitment to creating an inclusive work environment while serving as an early indicator of alignment between candidates’ values and our organisational culture. In parallel, we launched additional communication and engagement initiatives throughout the year to enhance awareness of DEI-related topics across the organisation. These initiatives were designed to foster deeper understanding, facilitate open dialogue, and promote a culture of inclusivity, ensuring all employees feel valued and empowered to thrive.
