Bank Islam Integrated Annual Report 2024

BITI-Green Zone Objective • Enhance our workplace environment and promote mental wellness by providing employees with access to the therapeutic properties of greenery, on site. What We Did in 2024 • Launched the BITI-Green Zone in September 2024 as part of our commitment to sustainability, featuring a hydroponic plant system, as a place where all employees can visit to enjoy greenery. • The BITI-Green Zone also functions as a live nursery for edible plants, producing vegetables that are donated or distributed to employees. Outcomes and Results • Our first harvest yielded 34 florets of green coral lettuce, which were donated to Restoran Sup Kawah Hitam, a café operated by Buku Jalanan Chow Kit (BJCK) that provides employment opportunities for marginalised communities. • Our second harvest produced 36 bunches of water spinach, which were distributed to BITI-Volunteers who adopted the plants for their onward care. • Our third harvest delivered 36 heads of lettuce, which were also distributed to BITI-Volunteers for their adoption and care.
