Offering Shariah-ESG Investment Funds BIMB Investment empowers its customers to undertake ethical and sustainable investment through its Shariah-ESG fund offerings, spanning global and local equities, money markets, Sukuk, and unit trust funds featuring Wakaf elements. As of 31 December 2024, the total AUM for these Shariah-ESG funds and client private mandates stood at RM496.5 million, representing 49.2% of its total AUM of RM1.0 billion. One of the division’s biggest success stories is its Makmur myWakaf Fund, a mixed-assets Shariah-compliant fund that enables investors to channel part of their returns as a Wakaf donation. It is recognised as a best-in-class fund in Malaysia, winning four awards at The Edge Malaysia ESG Awards 2024: the Gold award in the best E (environmental), best S (social), and best G (governance) fund categories, and the Silver award for Best Fund Based on Asset Class (Allocation). This is the second consecutive year that the fund has been recognised with these accolades, highlighting its success in creating positive impact through responsible investing. Enhancing Sustainability Analysis and Awareness In FY2024, we advanced our sustainability integration and client engagement efforts through several impactful initiatives: Generated sustainability ratings for all companies within our coverage, incorporating them into respective company reports to enhance the depth and quality of their sustainability analysis. Launched the “Sustainability Weekly Insight”, a newsletter providing timely updates and insights on developments in sustainability to inform and engage stakeholders. Facilitated meaningful discussions with key clients on sustainability-related topics through thematic engagements and our ESG Corporate Day, fostering collaboration, raising awareness, and driving sustainable practices.
