SUSTAINABILITY GOVERNANCE The Group is committed towards sustainability and aligning our practices with our goal to positively impact the environment and society. In line with the values governing the Group, sustainability has become a core component of the Group’s strategic decision-making process. Setting the Tone from the Top The Role of the Board and Management Our governance framework is underpinned by a clear division of responsibilities between the Board of Directors (Board) and the management. The Board, as our ultimate governing body, provides strategic oversight to our sustainability efforts and ensures that sound and prudent policies and practices are implemented, thereby integrating sustainability across the bank. The Board also functions as a critical check and balance mechanism in the management of our sustainability agenda, helping to keep us on track towards achieving our long-term value creation goals. To fulfil its responsibilities, the Board is supported by several committees: Shariah Supervisory Council (SSC): Provide objective and independent advice to ensure the Bank's operations, business, and activities comply with Shariah, maintaining autonomy in forming opinions on the Bank's conduct and businesses without external influence. Board Strategic and Sustainability Committee (BSSC): Oversees the development and implementation of the Group’s sustainability strategy, including climate change, and is provided with regular updates on our initiatives in these areas. Board Risk Committee (BRC): Oversees the effective management of all risks impacting the bank, including sustainability and climate-related risks.
